The Importance of Being Earnest (theatre play and OST)

September 28th, 2009

Oscar Wilde’s most famous play, as performed by Sir John Gielgud and Dame Edith Evans . I hope more of these appear, they are hugely enjoyable. The CD is part of an EMI Classics collection, but Spotify doesn’t show them in a label search :( Ideas anyone?

You may remember there was a movie adaptation (IMDB link) years ago, played by Colin Firth, Rupert Everett, Frances O’Connor, Reese Witherspoon, Judy Dench and Tom Wilkinson (what a cast!), Spotify has its OST by Charlie Mole, pay atention to Algernon/Jack – Everett/Firth duet:

A Night at the Met (Robin Williams)

September 28th, 2009

Robin Williams standup comedy at his best, during the transition period between acting comedian to comedy actor (or something to that tune). These are great routines, wich I’ve been laughing to for many years now. It seems like he was also finising a period of drug abuse (Cocaine, the Colombian dancing dust!!! :D ) and it reflected on many of his jokes. Just listen and laugh, please.

It all began in 1941…

September 26th, 2009

Hi! I’ll be brief. This is what got me into blogging about Spotify:

It’s not an OST record, but the complete dialogue from the film. I’ll try to discover findings like this, hoping you will enjoy them as I do.

See you soon.
